I love skiing Deer Valley. The expansive terrain and speedy lift with solid food, Ontario Bowl laps, and that new East Village base that skips the Park City drive — all reasons I keep going back. And the expansion underway is huge, nearly tripling terrain in a state that badly needs more skier capacity.
But now comes the sting: Deer Valley will be the first Alterra-owned resort to cross the $300 line, hitting $329 for a peak day ticket in 2025–26. Steamboat’s right there too. Vail will almost certainly top it (they usually do), but for now, Deer Valley wears the crown.
Is it worth it? That depends. Deer Valley isn’t the snowiest, steepest, or flashiest resort. It ranks middle of the pack in vertical, snowfall, and acreage. And compared to the Cottonwoods just 10 miles away, it’s not even close on terrain or powder. What it does deliver is polish: top-notch service, impeccable grooming, and a family-friendly experience that’s rare in today’s ski world.
Still, pricing a single day higher than nearly anywhere on the continent forces the question: is Deer Valley really the best ski resort in North America? Probably not. But for skiers who value the experience as much as the snow, it might be worth the splurge.
Park City Mountain resort is about the same price for what its worth!
